Man Charged With Forging Prescription In Cheshire, Crashing Car In Wallingford
Monday, David Belek, 35, of Waterbury was charged with illegal attempt to obtain a controlled substance, second-degree forgery, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and driving without a license.
A Waterbury man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly tried to pass a forged prescription at a pharmacy in Cheshire and then, while evading police, crashed into a telephone pole in Wallingford.
The Record-Journal reports that on Monday at 7:27 p.m., David Belek, 35, of Waterbury allegedly tried to pass a forged prescription for Oxycodone at a drive-thru pharmacy at the Cheshire CVS on South Main Street. The pharmacist notified police, but Belek allegedly evaded them and drove into Wallingford, where he subsequently crashed into a telephone pole, according to the newspaper.
Belek's injuries were not life-threatening, according to the newspaper. He was later charged with illegal attempt to obtain a controlled substance, second-degree forgery, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and driving without a license.
