Several Wallingford students have earned their degrees, won academic awards.


Ariana Dadario was awarded a Merit Scholarship award for $15,000 from The University of Findlay in Findlay, OH for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Wallingford native Sean Borger was honored at the 2014 Student Life Awards at Stonehill College recently. Borger, a member of the Class of 2014, received the Diversity & Social Justice Award.

Amanda Kneipfer graduated from Colby-Sawyer College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development.

Bryant University held its 151st Commencement and among the graduates are the following area residents:

  • Tyler James Keating, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting Magna Cum Laude
  • Tyler Frederick Holden, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance Cum Laude. He also received the Good Citizenship Award.
  • Ryan Thomas Moore, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Management
  • Alexander Robert Scelzo, Bachelor of Arts in Economics: Public Policy Track Summa Cum Laude. He also received the Political Science Award

Graduating from Skidmore College were:

  • Bree Loethen received a BA degree Summa Cum Laude
  • Stephanie Madlener received a BA degree Summa Cum Laude
  • Matthew Scotch received a BA degree

Joseph Benny Bonito, whose major is accounting, has been named to the Dean's List at Clemson University for the spring 2014 semester.

The following local residents recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines:

  • Kayleigh Timek initiated at University of Bridgeport
  • Nicholas Chasse initiated at University of Bridgeport.
