Wallingford Police Searching for Driver Who Struck Pedestrian

A 911 call came in Sunday evening regarding a hit-and-run accident on East Center Street.

Wallingford police are searching for the driver of a Kia believed to have hit a pedestrian Sunday evening.

According to police, a 911 call came in at 10:58 p.m. on Feb. 17 reporting that a pedestrian who was walking eastbound near the TD Bank at 841 East Center St. was hit by a vehicle going east. The vehicle didn’t stop after striking the pedestrian, police said.

Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to Yale-New Haven Hospital where the person was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police described the car as a black Kia, possibly an Optima, missing its passenger-side mirror — which was recovered at the scene of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wallingford Police Department at 203-294-2805
