Police: Landscaper Cleaned Yard, and Then House

Naugatuck Police say the Wallingford man stole 50 bottles of wine, silver coins, cameras and a TV.

A 29-year-old Wallingford man was arrested Sunday on charges that he stole several items from a Naugatuck house that he was working at as a landscaper.

According to police, the man and an unidentified accomplice stole about 50 bottles of wine, silver coins, cameras and a TV. They had been hired to do landscaping at the Naugatuck residence, police said. 

The theft was reported on June 23 and the man, identified as Mathieu Roussel, of Terrace Gardens in Wallingford, was arrested Feb. 16 by warrant, charging him with third-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Roussel was released after posting a $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 26.
