PD: 5 Ounces of Marijuana Seized from Wallingford Home

Local resident Wayne E. Volpe was taken into custody Thursday on charges of selling narcotics.

Wallingford police arrested a local man on narcotics-related charges after a search warrant revealed he had $1,500 in pot in his house.

Around 11 a.m. on Thursday, detectives from the Wallingford Narcotics Unit executed a narcotics warrant at 27 Eaton Drive, the home of 28-year-old Wayne E. Volpe, regarding the local sales and distribution of marijuana, according to a police news release.

Police said they found approximately five ounces of marijuana in the home with a street value totaling $1,500. Along with the marijuana, detectives seized scales, packaging material and other drug related paraphernalia, police said.

Volpe was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

He was released from police custody on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 2, 2013.
