Armed Robbery Reported at Krauszer's in Wallingford

Police said a man displayed a knife when he robbed the convenience store Tuesday afternoon.

Wallingford police are searching for a man who robbed a South Main Street convenience store Tuesday afternoon.

At 2:40 p.m., the Wallingford Police Department got a call reporting a robbery at Krauszer’s Food Store, 560 South Main St., said Lt. Glen King, police shift commander.

King said a white man, roughly 5’10, wearing a brown sweatshirt, displayed a knife at the employee in the store and made off with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect fled the store and got in a black car, King said. He said the vehicle was last seen on Pond Hill Road heading toward South Elm Street.

No one was injured in the encounter. King said he was not sure if there were any customers in the store.

Wallingford detectives are still investigating the incident and are on scene. King said there is nothing to suggest at this point that this robbery is connected at all to a series of Southington robberies from the past 24 hours.
