Do you know Wallingford's Alternative School Program?

Our Wallingford's Alternative School Program is a winner!! For those of you who may not be aware, this program is not, as many would assume, filled with "a bunch of bad kids". The teachers and Director and all of the faculty are underappreciated by way to many. As a parent of a teenage daughter who's attended this school for the past 2 years, this program has been a true godsend. Our daughter isn't a bad kid either. She has anxiety, depression and some social anxieties which we're problematic in the larger school atmosphere. We've watched her go from F's and D's to A's and B's and significantly less absences from school. We've watched her mature greatly during this timeframe as well. While this is due to a number of factors, one of the most important is this Alternative School Program. We are eternally grateful to our Superintendent, the Director, and ALL of the teachers involved in this special program. You have all saved our daughter from what was an unsure future to one which now has a forward and positive direction...up!!! For any of you who aren't fluent with the program, please do investigate. You'll find wonderfully genuine staff, with huge hearts, very giving of themselves. The program in place for the students to make up additional credits during the year which they didn't accomplish the year(s) before is also such a huge plus. The school field trips are educational, the extra programs offered are inspiring, and the dedication from each staff member is something to be recognized and seriously admired. If you have a child who is struggling and you are desperate for a special option, may I highly recommend your looking into this special school program. They'll go out of their way to make you, your family and your child feel welcome. Then it's up to your child to use the tools available to them to further their education and hopefully gain a new prospective on their future. Our family has seen such a turnaround, and hopefully yours will too!
