Have you ever driven by a charming old house, perhaps an historic property, or a stately mansion and said, “Wow, I’d LOVE to see what it looks like inside!”? To be able to see inside quaint, luxurious, or historic homes is a rare opportunity, and this year that opportunity can be yours.

On Saturday, December 1st, the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce will hold their Holiday House Tour from 10AM to 4PM at several amazing homes in Wallingford and North Haven. The event is sponsored by Fish Window Cleaning, and the houses are sponsored and will be decorated and hosted by several area businesses, including Prudential Connecticut Realty, Quinnipiac Bank, Calcagni Realty/Attorney Lars Edeen, H. Pearce Real Estate, Keller Williams Realty, Harriman Real Estate, Patti Stern of PJ & Company Home Styling, LLC, and Boardman Silversmiths to name a few. Some agencies will also have the assistance of home stagers/interior designers. Wallingford Flower Shoppe and Forget Me Not Flowers in North Haven will be providing floral arrangements and Home Depot, Lowes and Kinamor Manufacturing will also be donating items. Art students from Lyman Hall, Sheehan and North Haven High School and Choate Rosemary Hall will be donating paintings and sketching’s of the houses to be displayed in each home and in the Wallingford library.

The six incredible homes that will be decorated for the holidays are located at:

24 Academy St, Wallingford (The Samuel Lewis Home), 6 Stoney Brook Rd, Wallingford, 1 Wheatfield Rd, Wallingford, 777 Mount Carmel Rd, North Haven, 1 Old Tavern Rd, North Haven (The Rising Sun Tavern) and 410 Williams Road, Wallingford

On the day of the tour, you can start at any one of the homes (a list of addresses will accompany your tickets). When you get to your first home, you will be greeted by a representative of the sponsoring real estate agency and receive a program for the event. At each home, you will receive a stamp on your program and at the end of the day if you have visited all homes you will be entered into a drawing for a weekend away in New England (place TBD)!

This event will be a fantastic way to usher in the holiday season, so mark your calendars and get your tickets early. These homes are treasured by their owners, and we are grateful for them sharing their homes with us. For more information, contact the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce at (203) 269-9891

Tickets for this amazing event are $20 per person and are available at the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce office located at 100 So. Turnpike Road in Wallingford, and the Real Estate Agencies listed above.

And I don't suppose the low rate of male participation in the labor market (a bit of info I missedRead More somehow) has anything to do with a RISE in female participation? You aren't suggesting that women just stay home and out of the jobs that somehow "belong" to men, are you?

Touchy, touchy! All I asked was how MAC compared the two apparent misstatements. My guess was thatRead More the obvious disrespect that was shown by the way he refers to the President was a hint that he was a biased commentator. His defenders have called me a lib, but most folks who know me wouldn't call me that at all. I was hoping for some "fair and balanced" discussion here, but the name-callers have arrived. I ask MAC to provided some reference to support his latest pronouncement that the President "wants to destroy our economy." There are a lot of commentators who would disagree with your assessment of the economy anyway, but when did the President say he "wants to destroy our economy?"

We now have a president who wants to destroy our economy and most all of what made America theRead More (formerly?) greatest and most FREE nation in the world! He has done a fair job of accomplishing that destruction, has he not? The male labor participation rate is now the lowest since WWII, and energy costs have "necessarily skyrocketed" as he demanded!! Then we have "Common Core" and the like for the nation's schools, under which the regime denies the Constitution and instead teaches "social justice" and that America is responsible for the poverty in other nations!
