Wallingford Parking Ban to Go Into Effect Friday Due to Storm

A blizzard is expected to move into the region Friday morning and carrying into Saturday, potentially dumping a foot of snow on Connecticut.

With a large blizzard expected to potentially dump a foot or more of snow on the region, Wallingford officials are already making preparations.

A parking ban will go into effect beginning 9 a.m. Friday morning said Lt. Marc Mikulski, spokesman for the Wallingford Police Department. Cars cannot be in normal street parking spots during the duration of the storm.

The blizzard is expected to bring gusty conditions and several inches of snow, according to forecasts.

The town of Wallingford reminds residents that, in the event of a parking ban, temporary parking is available in several municipal lots:

Town Hall - 45 South Main Street
Municipal Credit Union - 88 South Main Street
Wallingford Public Library - 200 North Man Street
Caplan/Wooding Property - located behind the building that corners North Main Street and Center Street
Simpson Court Rear Lot - park in designated municipal area
Whittlesey Avenue & Orchard Street - park in designated municipal area
Meadow Street & William Street - park in designated municipal area
Railroad Station - park behind station on the west side of the tracks
