The Wallingford Journal Goes Under

The Wallingford Journal, a local newspaper, has announced it will no longer publish future editions and it will discontinue its Facebook page and website.

The newspaper announced its closure on its Facebook page earlier today. Its post reads as follows:

"The Wallingford Journal, the town dedicated newspaper, has had to make a tough call. Due to a lack of self-sustainability, we will not be publishing future editions. We have enjoyed being involved in the community and wish we could remain; however, as many of you can relate, we have to make wise financial decisions in this tough economic time. In addition, at the end of this week, we will be discontinuing our Facebook page and our website. Thank you for your interest and understanding."
