Local Dunkin' Donuts Owner Hopes Revised Store Plan Percolates in Wallingford

Manuel Rocha was denied three years ago, but is trying once again to open a new shop at former bank site at 841 East Center Road.

Local Dunkin' Donuts owner Manuel Rocha is hoping that a revised plan that eliminates a drive-through area will help his bid to open a shop at 841 East Center Road.

Rocha, who owns several other Dunkin' Donuts locations in town and in the state, presented his latest application to the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday night.

Three years ago, Rocha attempted to open a shop at the former bank site but it was met with serious opposition from residents and the Planning and Zoning Commission denied the application, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The previous proposal included a drive-through, which residents feared would cause traffic congestion, and the new plan is to open a standalone coffee shop.
