At the Wallingford Library: Tutoring, Book Club, Guitar Lessons, Movies


Here's what's happening this week at the Wallingford Public Library.

Monday, March 17:

  • 4 — 8 PM: Homework Help — Mrs. Cabrera offers homework help in English and Spanish throughout the school year. Her schedule follows the public school calendar, and is not here on days that the public schools are closed. This program is funded by the Master Plan of Wallingford.
  • 6 — 8 PM: Ask the Tech Guru — These informal question and answer workshops are for those who want to expand their computer knowledge. Bring your laptop or gadget if you have one! No registration required. Location: Charlotte Collins Meeting Room.

Tuesday, March 18:
  • 3 — 4 PM: Guitar Workshop for Teens — Learn the fundamental habits of a superior acoustic guitar player and master the basic chords and strums. Don Wunderlee, local musician and artist, will be your instructor. Classes will meet every Tuesday afternoon in March. Open to all Teens in grades 6-12. You must be able to attend all 4 sessions. BYOG (bring your own guitar). Space is limited for this free series and advance registration is required. Wednesday March 19:

  • 6:30 —  8 PM: Just the Facts: The Affordable Care Act — Join us for an interactive workshop to learn about the Affordable Care Act and what this new law means for you, your family, your organization, and everyone in Connecticut. Presented by Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut.  Location: Community Room.
  • 6:30 — 8:30 PM: Computer Tutoring — One-on-one instruction for computer novices. Call (203)265-6754 to schedule an appointment. Location: Board Room.

Thursday March 20:
  • 6 — 7:30 PM: Hair Feathers — Add a hair feather extension to your hair! Choose from a variety of colors and sizes. Feathers may be washed and dried repeatedly and still retain their beauty. Feathers are attached with a micro-crimp to the hair which allows them to stay in for as long as three months. They can easily be removed at any time. Please register in advance.   • 6 — 8:30 PM: Friday Night Flicks: Frozen. Rated PG, 102 minutes. Location: Community Room.
