Reel Conversations: Ladies in Lavender

Wallingford Public Library continues the film series “Reel Conversation: True Love with a Twist” on Saturday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. with the film Ladies in Lavender.  The film stars Judi Dench and Maggie Smith as sisters living peacefully in their cottage on the shore of Cornwall. When a young man washes ashore after a violent storm, the sisters nurse him back to health. The impact this young man has on the sisters and the townspeople is dramatic. Directed by Charles Dance and originally released in 2004, the film was shot on location in Cornwall, England. Following the film, a discussion focusing on the elements of love as presented in the film will be moderated by Brooks Appelbaum and Dennis Bell.

All programs and events at the Wallingford Public Library are free and open to the public. Advance registration is appreciated. For more information, please contact the library at 203-265-6754 or wallingfordlibrary.org.
